The Mind/Body Connection
Today, it’s a known concept that our minds and bodies are closely connected. However, I’m not sure people have a full understanding of what this actually means. The mind/body connection is about our emotions and—for the majority of you out there—the lack of fully experiencing our emotions most of the time.
Unfortunately, this is happening less and less frequently. We’re distracting ourselves by working too much, going out every night, drinking, surfing the Internet….In other words, we’re finding ways to avoid our emotions altogether. This is where the mind/body connection comes into play. Ignoring our feelings leads to the development of symptoms such as anxiety, depression, back pain, migraines…the list goes on and on. The main culprit here is unfelt and unexpressed anger.
Feelings seem to have a bad rap in our society. The truth is that we’re experiencing emotions twenty-four hours day; we just don’t know it. Even when our life is in a great place, we can still have anger, fear, and sadness. I am here to tell you that by acknowledging all of these feelings, you’re actually helping your body function in a healthy and energetic way. In turn, you’re taking a huge leap towards getting the life you want!
